The event will be held in late November 2016\, exact date is to be determined in the nearest fut ure.\n\n \;\n\nThetford Forest is used by the BSSF to host the British National Championships and British team selection trials each year. The 2 013/14 National Championships had 240 teams competing. The venue has a vis itors centre which offers information about the forest and the surrounding areas. Thetford Town centre is just 10-minute drive away with access to a ccommodation restaurants/cafes and shops.\n\n \;\n\nChannel Tunnel and Ferry ports are just 3 hours’ drive from the venue.\n\n \;\n\nInter national Airports close by:\n\n \;\n\nNorwich international airport is 1hours drive\n\nStansted International Airport is 1 1⁄4 hours’ drive\ n\nHeathrow International Airport is 2 1⁄2 hours’ drive\n\n \;\n\n The venue boasts sand based grass trails with a small number of harder pac ked trails. Excellent drainage means the trails are usable whatever the we ather conditions. They have been described as some of the best dryland tra ils in the world. Trail lengths will be set closer to the event but will b e in accordance with IFSS Race Rules.\n\n \;\n\n“We have the benefit of being able to offer a trail specific to Canicross\, starting and finis hing in the same area as all other classes. It will also be possible to ho ld mass start for canicross classes. A twin chute shall be used to reduce intervals between teams departing”\, says Charlie Brecknell\, BSSF 1st V ice President &\; BSSF VP Sport.\n\n \;\n\nThis is the first time t he European Championship will be held on the British Islands and managed b y the new IFSS member BSSF.
